MUKAH: A few electrical and telecommunication cables as well as light poles fell on the ground at KM4, Jalan Mukah-Balingian near a petrol station here after they were accidentally ripped off by a lorry’s loading bucket today (July 27).

Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said the lorry driver, 22, did not realise that the loading bucket of his lorry was still raised and proceeded with his journey.

“Prior to the incident, the lorry was coming out of a junction from Alam Suria new coal storage farm, and was travelling along Lorong Appolo. No casualties were reported in the 11am incident,” he said.

Traffic police and a contract worker appointed by Sarawak Energy Berhad Mukah were rushed to the scene to control the situation and relocate the electrical cables.
