BETONG: Heavy downpour affected 96 residents when their 12-door longhouse, Rh Garit, here was flooded with the water rising to knee level.
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the water level was one and a half feet deep high.
“The water began to rise at around 11.15 pm yesterday (Jan 26) and is likely to continue rising.
“As of now, the residents are staying at the second floor of their resdnce,” said the spokesman said in a statement.
He reminded the residents to contact Bomba for immediate assistance if the water continues to rise.
