KUCHING: Yesterday was a highly anticipated day for punters who were hoping to win the Sports Toto Supreme 6/58 jackpot, which has surpassed RM100 million.

Throughout the state, long queues were observed at various Sports Toto Bhd outlets up till early last night. The draw took place at 7 pm last night.

The betting outlets at King Centre and Kenyalang Park here were among those seen with long queues, as eager punters were seen lining up to buy the ticket and trying out their luck.

As of the time of writing, the official Sports Toto website saw the Supreme 6/58 jackpot had reached RM120 million, marking the largest lottery jackpot in Malaysia’s history.

Sarawak Tribune also observed that netizens across the country have taken to social media that they have visited the betting outlet in their respective areas to try their luck.

Earlier, it was reported that Sports Toto Berhad chief executive officer Nerine Tan said the previous record jackpot was RM97.75 million in 2022.

“The highest jackpot previously was RM97.75 million in 2022. This weekend, we believe the jackpot will surpass RM100 million,” she was quoted as saying.

She said that the increasing jackpot amount has led to a surge in ticket purchases over the past two weeks.

“With more people buying tickets, the chances of someone winning are also higher.

“This weekend, a lucky winner may claim this significant prize before Chinese New Year. Winning the jackpot could transform the winner’s life, as well as the lives of their family,” she said.
