MIRI: Three local men were arrested by police following suspicions of their involvement in a theft case concerning the branded medication, Gastrorx Relief.
The arrests took place at a budget hotel in the area late on Monday afternoon (Apr 7).
During a raid around 6 pm, officers also seized two units of the medication believed to have been stolen, which will serve as evidence in the investigation.
According to sources, the suspects, aged between their 26, 34 and 34, were detained following information provided by the public and intelligence gathered by the authorities.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code, which pertains to theft within a building, carrying a potential sentence of up to 10 years’ imprisonment and a fine, if found guilty.
Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain whether there are any connections to other theft cases in the surrounding area.
