Local man injured in car crash

SELANGAU: A 46-year-old man sustained injuries in a car crash at Mile 32, Stapang here last night (Sept 13).

The accident happened around 9.35pm when his Proton Gen 2 allegedly skidded out of control and crashed to the roadside.

Firefighters from Selangau station were dispatched to the scene, about 22km away, after receiving a distress call.

Upon arrival, they discovered the driver unconscious in his car and extrication works were carried out using rescue tools.

The injured victim was later handed over to the paramedics for further medical treatment. The extent of his injuries was not known.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 10.28pm.
