Liza Aziz is GV11 champion

SINGER Liza Aziz lived up to expectations as she was crowned the champion of Gegar Vaganza Season 11 (GV11) during the grand finale held at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Auditorium on Sunday night.

The 61-year-old’s victory earned her a cash prize of RM100,000 along with a trophy courtesy of Astro, the Terpaling Adabi award worth RM3,000, and Adabi products valued at RM500.

Earlier in the evening, Liza was also honoured with the Ikon Super Lit CelcomDigi award, voted by fans.

During the final concert themed “It’s Final”, Liza delivered a powerful solo performance of “I Surrender”, originally sung by Celine Dion. She then performed a duet with Kris Dayanti on the song “Cinta”, followed by “Angkat” during the Battle segment alongside Zehra Zambri, Ning Baizura, and Sheila Abdul.

The runner-up title went to Ning Baizura, who took home a cash prize of RM50,000 and a trophy, while Sheila Abdul secured third place, earning RM30,000 and a trophy.

Meanwhile, Dadali Dyrga, Zehra Zambri, and The Lima finished in fourth, fifth, and sixth place, respectively, with cash prizes of RM20,000, RM15,000, and RM10,000, along with their respective trophies.

The six finalists were judged by a panel of esteemed judges, including Datuk Ramli MS, Datuk Syafinaz Selamat and renowned Indonesian singer Hetty Koes Endang.

GV11 was hosted by Nabil Ahmad and Sherry Alhadad, with special appearances from Taufik Batisah, Pasha Ungu, Datuk Jamal Abdillah, Dolla, and All-Star Gegar Vaganza champion, Jaclyn Victor, who added to the excitement of the grand finale.
