KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Motorrad Malaysia has unveiled the New BMW R 18 100 Years, a special edition motorcycle that pays homage to the 100th anniversary of BMW Motorrad.
According to a press release issued by BMW Group Malaysia yesterday, with only 1,923 units produced worldwide, the limited edition cruiser showcases the iconic big boxer engine and the timeless charm of BMW Motorrad.
The New BMW R 18 100 Years is a tribute to the year of BMW Motorrad’s founding, and only ten exclusive units have been made available for customers and fans in Malaysia.
“Presenting SoulFuel in its most iconic form, the New BMW R 18 100 Years is set to make its mark as the most stylish heritage cruiser by BMW Motorrad, powered by the largest displacement engine we have ever installed on a motorcycle.
“Built for genuine enthusiasts of SoulFuel motorcycles, the BMW R 18 is a timeless icon, accented with essentials from predecessor models — a purist design with no-frills technology and the highly-coveted big boxer engine for maximum thrill.
“In celebration of Making Life a Ride for 100 years now, the centennial edition of the BMW R 18 is a remarkable showcase of a century’s worth of joyous riding experiences. The 100 Years Edition of the BMW R 18 features a modern-classic design with heritage-centric elements that give the cruiser a distinctive appearance. The combination of black paintwork, high-gloss chrome surfaces, and white double pinstriping create a unique aesthetic that harks back to the late 1920s.
The motorcycle also comes with exclusive chrome parts and a bicolour seat upholstered in black/oxblood with diamond embossing.
In terms of equipment, the New BMW R 18 100 Years is equipped with a new speedometer with a multifunctional display, full LED lighting, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), riding modes, Keyless Ride, and additional optional features such as Adaptive Headlight, heated grips, Hill Start Control (HSC), and Cruise Control.
Customers can finance the New BMW R 18 100 Years through BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, with monthly payments starting from RM1,938.00. Additionally, owners can benefit from the Premium Engine Oil Inclusive, Service Inclusive, and Warranty Extension Programmes offered by BMW Motorrad Malaysia.
The retail price for the New BMW R 18 100 Years, including BMW Motorrad Malaysia’s All-New 3-Year Warranty and 3-Year Roadside Assistance Programmes (excluding insurance), is RM159,500.00.
