LIMBANG: The various unique festivals celebrated by communities here will help push the state’s target to draw five million tourist arrivals this year.

The festivals include Bebulang of the Bisaya community, Badudun and Cattle Race of the Malays, Annual Eating Party of the Kedayans, Medamit of the Ibans and Irau Aco of the Lun Bawang community.

“Limbang also had the advantage of its strategic location and close proximity to our neighbouring country Brunei, Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan,” said Limbang deputy resident Sebi Abang.

“The festivals and its strategic location will certainly play a part in helping to meet the state’s target of attracting five million tourist arrivals to the state as part of the Visit Sarawak 2019 Campaign,” he said when officiating at the opening of Visit Sarawak 2019 Campaign roadshow at the Dewan Kampung Bunga Raya here.

The Visit Sarawak Campaign which carries the tagline “More to Discover” was launched on Dec 31, last year.
