PETALING JAYA: Fresh off an electrifying 2024 season, national kegler Sin Li Jane is raring to ‘roll’ her red-hot form into the 2025 campaign.

Li Jane, who enters the new season with an impressive collection of titles last year including the Asian champion, acknowledged that she is in her prime to blaze the lane in the 2025 World Cup in Kowloon, Hong Kong, from Jan 5 until 14.

“So far the preparation has been going well and I’m ready for the World Cup. I do feel so (top form) and I feel good in training,” she told Bernama when met at a training session here.

Apart from aiming to shine in the women’s singles event, the 32-year-old also hopes to replicate her last edition’s success of a podium finish in the women’s team category.

The 2014 and 2018 women’s singles runner-up helped Malaysia down the United States 3-2 to strike bronze, the country’s first medal in the women’s team event, introduced in the last edition in Australia two years ago.

In the meantime, the top Asian bowler described her 2024 campaign as nothing short of remarkable.

Among Li Jane’s impressive accolades was the historic achievement as the first Asian bowler to be named the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour Player of the Year in the United States.

This came after her success in winning four titles in the US Women’s Open, Tour Championship, Bowlers Journal Rockford Open and Greater Nashville Classic.

Asked about her secret to success, the right-handed bowler said it was due to her skill and unwavering determination.

“I just work hard and when you are ready everything will fall in place,” she said.

Apart from Li Jane, the national women’s squad includes reigning world champion Natasha Mohamed Roslan, Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman and Gillian Lim.

Former world champion Muhammad Rafiq Ismail will spearhead the national men’s squad alongside Timmy Tan, Tun Hakim Tun Hasnul Azam and Ahmad Muaz Mohd Fishol. – Bernama
