KUCHING: Levelling works on the site of the former wooden shophouse that was razed to ground in Kabong Town in June this year are currently being carried out.
Saratok MP Datuk Ali Biju in a Facebook post said this after a visit to the affected site yesterday.
“At that time, I immediately channelled a sum of RM50,000 of emergency aid and also another RM30,000 for the levelling works,” he said.
On June 29, the fire incident had destroyed a total of 10 units of shophouses.
The row of shops was an old building in Kabong Town, Saratok. It was built using wood and was over 100 years old.
Firemen from Saratok station managed to put the fire under control at 4.24am, and no one was hurt doing the fire incident.
