SIBU: Fostering the spirit of peace and unity is the responsibility of all, said Sibu Resident Charles Siaw.
He said one perfect opportunity to nurture peace and unity is the festive occasions.
“Gawai Dayak is one of these festivals. Gawai brings us together. Through events like pre-Gawai Dayak dinner we can foster friendship.
“It is also through gatherings like this one that we can enhance our fellowship with families and friends,” he said when officiating at a Pre-Gawai Dayak Dinner of Area Development Committee (ADC) of Batang Oya/Pakoh/Sekuau held at a restaurant in Sibu Saturday night.
ADC Batang Oya/Pakoh/Sekuau chairman Henry Kanyan and Penghulu Andrewson Ngalai were among those present.
