MIRI: The spirit of unity and racial harmony continues to be a priority in Sarawakian community.
Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin led a delegation to visit the homes of Malay community leaders, including village chiefs, members of the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), and other community leaders around Miri recently.
He stated that the programme was not only about conveying festive greetings but also served as a platform to strengthen relationships among community leaders regardless of race, and to foster the spirit of unity.
“We live in a multicultural society, and initiatives like this are important to ensure that harmony continues to flourish.
Celebrations such as Aidilfitri are not just for one race, but an opportunity for all of us to appreciate cultural and traditional diversity,” he said.
Through the organisation of such programmes, Lee added that Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Senadin branch expresses its commitment to ensuring that harmony among the multiracial community continues to be strengthened, in line with the spirit of unity which is the cornerstone of Sarawak.
Among the leaders visited were federal Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni, Malay Temenggong of Miri Division, Mohamed Abang Othman, and other distinguished guests.
