LCDA brings Ramadan cheer to underprivileged communities

KUCHING: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) hosted the annual Darul Hana Iftar 2025 to support and celebrate the Darul Hana community as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

The event aimed to provide financial assistance to orphans and underprivileged communities during Ramadan while also acknowledging the contributions of various agencies involved in the Darul Hana development project.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, accompanied by his wife Datin Patinggi Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, officiated at the event last night at Sheraton Hotel’s Grand Ballroom.

During the gathering, Abang Johari and Juma’ani presented a symbolic Hari Raya donation totaling RM18,750 to 40 representatives, benefiting 125 recipients, including orphans and the underprivileged from 13 villages within the Darul Hana development project area.

Each recipient received RM150 in financial aid.

Additionally, LCDA general manager, Datuk Zaidi Mahdi, presented the 2024 business zakat contribution of RM2,297,726 on behalf of the LCDA Group of Companies to the Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS), received by its general manager Datuk Shibli Nailie.

The event was attended by 600 guests, including LCDA staff, community leaders from Kampung Seberang Hilir, senior government officials and media representatives.
