BINTULU: KEMAS Tabika and KEMAS Permata Kindergarten play an important role in shaping the character and skills of young children.

Member of Parliament for Bintulu, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, stated that early childhood education was not just about building academic foundations, but more importantly, it helped children to understand values, discipline and social skills that would help them adapt to an increasingly challenging world.

“Education at this level involves more than just academic achievements. It builds self-confidence, the courage to try new things and a sense of responsibility, which are the foundations for success in their lives later on,” he said.

He said this yesterday in his speech  presented by his Special Officer, Steven Kong Kai Seng, at the Appreciation Day for KEMAS Tabika and KEMAS Permata Kindergarten children in the Bintulu Parliamentary Constituency for the 2024/2025 session.

Tiong also expressed his appreciation to the teachers who tirelessly educated and guided the children at KEMAS Tabika and KEMAS Permata Kindergarten.

“The dedication and love of the teachers play an important role in ensuring that these children receive a holistic education,” he added.

He also thanked parents and guardians for their strong support of their children’s education.

“The close cooperation between home and educational institutions is the key to their success,” he continued.

At the same time, Tiong urged parents and guardians to continue playing an important role in fostering early childhood education  while reminding children that education was a journey that shaped their future.

“Our children are the most precious assets of the nation. What we instil  in them at this young age will have a lifelong impact. Keep learning, striving, and dreaming big,” he said.

A total of 354 children from 55 KEMAS tabikas and kindergartens in the Bintulu Parliamentary Constituency were celebrated at this appreciation event, which was also attended by the KEMAS Bintulu Division Officer, Muhammad Iqbal Abdullah.
