SIMUNJAN: Heavy rain since Tuesday triggered soil movements leading to a landslide in Jalan Sekujang here.
A Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesperson said the department received a distress call at 6.45am yesterday, and noted that rainwater had destabilised the soil structure of a slope.
The landslide covered half of the road, obstructing traffic. Firefighters carried out cleaning work along the road and the operation was completed at 8.20am.
No injury or casualty was reported during the operation.
Separately, firefighters were deployed to assist residents from two houses in Kampung Isu Suria here in moving their belongings to higher ground following a report received at 7.15pm on Tuesday.
Heavy rain had caused water level to rise.
