KUCHING: Growing up in the part of the world where a snowy Christmas always seemed like a Christmas miracle, many wonder if this miracle could ever come true.

But, forget dreaming of a white Christmas—this year, Kuchingnites are living it!

On Dec 18, Kuchingnites saw a true Christmas miracle—finally a snowy-like Christmas bringing smiles, laughter, and a whole new level of holiday cheer.

The ‘snowfall’ happened at Kuching’s Christmas Heartbeat, held at The Podium where families, friends and curious onlookers gathered to witness this whimsical event.

Known to be the first-ever ‘snow’ seen in Kuching, this frosty surprise had children screaming in delight, running about with pure joy, while adults snapped photos to capture the magical moment.

As snow-like flakes gently descended, all smiles were seen as everyone had to capture this miracle for the memory.

The sight of little ones laughing under the faux snowflakes was enough to melt even the Grinch’s heart, turning the evening into an unexpected de-stressor for many parents.

However, the magic doesn’t stop there!

From Dec 18 to 23, at 7pm and 8.30pm, Kuching’s Christmas Heartbeat will bring its snowy spectacle to life.

Alongside the ‘snow’, visitors can enjoy a vibrant array of local crafts, food, drinks, and festive gift ideas.

A highlight of this event is the Labubu Treasure Hunt happening on Dec 21 at 2pm, where young and old or especially fans of the Labubu character can join.

Throughout the week, live performances by local singers and carolers will fill the air with festive tunes.

Workshops and competitions, like making macrame Christmas trees, beaded earrings, graffiti-style ornaments, and more offer a chance for the public to craft something special for the season.

Whether it is food for the bones, music to the soul, or snow for the heart, the Kuching Christmas Heartbeart runs daily from 9am onwards.
