KUCHING: Sarawak’s last red zone, Kuching district, has been declared yellow zone when the number of new cases reported was less than 40 in the last 14 days.

With that, Sarawak no longer has any red zone district.

Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas also announced that no new positive cases were reported throughout the state to maintain zero cases since yesterday.

“The state also recorded no new positive cases for two days in a row,” he said during the daily Covid-19 press conference yesterday.

Uggah, who is also deputy chief minister, added six more patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital. All the cases are from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

“The number of recoveries is at 74.45 percent of the total 544 cases,” he said.

He said 20 new person under investigation (PUI) cases were recorded, and 11 PUI cases are still awaiting laboratory test results.
