KUCHING: Kuching FA ended the first round of the FAM Cup 2017 campaign with a disappointment when they went down 0-2 to Terengganu City at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu on Sunday night.
Terengganu City goals were scored by the Muhd. Nurhalis Syafiq Nizu in 62th minute and Ros Mohd Muharam Wahab in 91st minute to deny the visitors any hope of bringing home any point.
“It’s a very disappointing loss, the host struck two goals due to our poor defence,” said assistant
coach, Shahrizan Sahari after the match.
He admitted that his players’ performance in first half was apparently less satisfactory compared to their ability to dominate the competition in the second half.
“We managed to create five or six chances but failed to produce any goals,” added Shahrizan.
He said he will try to find ways to resolve the problem within a few days’ rest.
Kuching FA squad now secure seven points after two wins, one draw and three losses.
The second round will start on Sunday (30 April) with Kuching FA and Terengganu City playing here at the State Stadium, Petra Jaya.
