KUCHING: The Singapura cat, also known as Kucinta, is the highlight of this month’s artifact exhibition at the city’s Cat Museum.
Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) in a Facebook post said the monthly exhibition is part of the museum’s ongoing initiative to showcase unique feline-related artifacts from around the world.
Recognised as the smallest cat breed, Kucinta is known for its large eyes, wide ears, ticked coat, and blunt tail.
The breed traces its origins to three Singaporean street cats imported in the 1970s.
Its name combines the Malay words kucing (cat) and cinta (love), symbolising ‘The One I Love.’

Apart from that, visitors can explore a collection of statues, paintings, and historical objects highlighting the role of cats in various cultures.
The Cat Museum is open daily from 9 am to 4.30 pm except on public holidays.
For those interested in feline history and culture, this month’s exhibition offers a rare glimpse into Singapore’s beloved Kucinta cat.
