KUCHING: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN) recently confiscated five vehicles with approximately 12,569 litres of diesel oil, totaling an estimated seizure value of RM289,623.30 at Jalan Tan Sri Datuk Amar Wee Boon Ping.

The ongoing investigation case has been referred to the General Operations Force (PGA) as it involved the misappropriation of controlled subsidised diesel goods.

Under investigation pursuant to the Control of Supplies Act 1961, authorities are working to identify individuals and companies involved in the distribution chain of diesel oil, including unauthorised acquisition and distribution sources.

Offenders face severe penalties, including fines of up to two million ringgit for corporations and one million ringgit for individuals. Additionally, imprisonment for up to five years may be imposed for repeat offences.

Members of the public with relevant information regarding the misappropriation of controlled and subsidised goods are urged to submit their complaints through various channels provided by the ministry.
