SIBU: The closing date for submission of Kenyalang Journalism Awards (KJA) entries has been extended to July 19.
Federation of Sarawak Journalist Association (FSJA) president Hii Hong Wee announced this in a press release yesterday.
With the extension, he hoped more journalists from the print, broadcast media and online in the state could submit their entries.
A total of RM200,000 in prize money is up for grabs in all the 11 categories of the awards.
Entry forms for the awards are obtainable from KJA committee members or through Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA), FSJA Sibu and Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA).
All entries published in 2018 are eligible to compete.
For the newly introduced Digital Economy category, however, only articles published between July 1, 2018 and Dec 31, 2018 are eligible to compete.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Abang Tun Openg is expected to grace this year’s 31st KJA at RH Hotel in Sibu on Oct 25.
