Khazanah’s community outreach event attracts 1,000 visitors

KUCHING: Khazanah Nasional (Khazanah) held its #BerbudiBersama event, which was attended by 1,000 people  at the Kuching Waterfront on Sunday.

The event was part of Khazanah’s initiative to celebrate 30 years of Advancing Malaysia, which kicked start a series of community outreach programmes taking place nationwide.

Through the initiative, Khazanah, its affiliated entities and Khazanah-linked companies (KLCs) hopes to establish closer relationships with communities, encouraging greater collaboration and impact creation.

The nationwide community outreach programme caters to all Malaysians from all walks of life and income groups, delivering various activities which include upskilling activities and opportunities, financial literacy sessions, entrepreneurial guidance and educational workshops, health and wellbeing and others.

Visitors at the event were able to enjoy various activities provided by the over  100 participating booths. This included among others, #sapotlokal dedicated booths from local SMEs offering food & beverages, local merchandises, and many more fun activities for children. Other booths #Beli-beli comprised many crafts and traditional enterprises.

Meanwhile, under #BerbudiBersama booths comprised corporate bodies such as CENTEXS, CIMB Foundation, CIMB Group, Dana Impak, Yayasan Hasanah and others, are relevant to Khazanah’s core societal pillars of Building Capacity and Creating Opportunities, Community Development, Environment Preservation and Arts, Heritage and Culture Preservation.

Visitors were also entertained by Cat City Percussion, whereby audiences were invited to participate in drum beating.
