KcSH holds CSR programme at Kpg Apar

KUCHING: As part of KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital’s (KcSH) quarterly CSR and awareness programme and in conjunction with World Nurses’ Day which was celebrated on 12 May, 2017, the management and nursing team of KPJ Kuching conducted a community event at Kampung Apar Singai, Bau’s REDEEMS Centre near here on Friday.

KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital’s team which included the General Manager, Ms. Nurhazimah Mahat, Matron, Ms. Catherine Pung, Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, Mdm. Prema Maniam, as well as the team of nurses and support staff were welcomed by the village head, Biker Gadong and the person in-charge of REDEEMS Centre, Bau, Koper Gadong.

Many activities were held for the community of Apar Singai. Dr Stella Weishan Tekhee, one of KPJ Kuching’s Medical Officer delivered a talk on Hypertension, followed by a talk on Mammogram from Radiographer, Mdm. Verrina and lastly a talk on Hand Hygiene from Sheila Lim, Infection Control Nurse.

After the talks, the nurses gave out free basic health screening to the community which included Random Blood Glucose Test, Blood Pressure Test and Body Mass Index Checking.

“This programme is aimed at giving back to the community and we are glad that we are able to do our part,” said General Manager of KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital, Nurhazimah Mahat.

She also expressed her gratitude to the community of Kampung Apar Singai for their cooperation in ensuring the programme was a success.
