KUCHING: A Randau Kasih Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative was hosted by the Katimas Group to empower underprivileged communities and promote sustainable development.
It was carried out jointly with Hope Place Kuching, Purple Lily Association Kuching, and Breakthrough Network Centre, whose support ensured its impactful reach in the community.
The programme held at the Wild Pantry featured activities aimed to uplift the community with a soup kitchen serving approximately 200 packs of warm meals to promote a sense of care and solidarity, while financial literacy workshops, Women Wise in the World of Finance (Wanita Bijak Dunia Kewangan) and Financially Literate Teens (Remaja Celik Kewangan) were conducted for women and teens, equipped with tools to manage their finances effectively and make informed decisions.
A coding programme, ‘Frosty Code Journey with Snowman’ was also offered to introduce children to the digital world and enhance their creativity and technical skills, and extra food packs were also delivered to individuals and families in need of the local community to extend the initiative’s reach and impact.
Katimas chairman, Datuk Franco Lee highlighted the company’s CSR commitment to supporting underprivileged communities by providing both immediate assistance and long-term empowerment for a brighter future.
“Our CSR represents our ongoing commitment to positively impacting the lives of underprivileged communities.
“We are not only providing immediate assistance but also empowering participants with the tools and expertise they need to build a more promising future,” he said.
