KAPIT: Katibas assemblyman Lidam Assan visited two temporary evacuation centres (PPS) in Song to assess the condition of flood victims and evaluate the current needs at these locations.

The visit included stops at PPS Balai Raya Song and PPS Gelanggang Futsal Song.

The two centres are currently sheltering 373 flood victims from 102 affected households due to an overflowing river.

During the visit, Lidam expressed deep concern for the flood victims who were forced to relocate to the PPS as several areas in Song town were inundated and rendered impassable to light vehicles.

Among the affected areas were Jalan Depan Pejabat Pos, Jalan Mission, Jalan Stadium, Jalan Seturak, and the road in front of JKR.

Lidam said along with the relevant authorities, he will continue to monitor the situation closely and ensure that all necessary provisions at the PPS are met, so that the welfare of the victims is well taken care of.
