MIRI: Sixty culverts have been built in Kampung Tudan here since work commenced in 2019.
Work is in progress to complete the remaining 40 units.
In 2019, an allocation totalling RM750,000 under Senadin assemblyman Datuk Lee Kim Shin’s Rural Transformation Programme was approved for the project.
“It’s expected to be completed by September this year,” said Lee yesterday when met at Kampung Tudan after he inspected the work.
He was accompanied by Penghulu Nasir Rahim, Kapitan Chong Ah Muk, Kapitan Ngieng Hock Diing, representative from Department of Irrigation and Drainage as well as contractors.
Earlier, Lee went to the Kampung Batu Satu, Kuala Baram fish stalls, whereby he asked the Public Works Department (JKR) to resurface the main road heading towards the fish market.
He also noticed that a lot of debris had been washed up by waves into the fish stalls area.
Concerned with the situation, Lee asked JKR to increase the slope of the road connecting to the boat shade to resolve the matter.
Lee also inspected road projects progress in Permyjaya area.
The roads that had been resurfaced included Lorong 2 and Lorong 5 off Jalan Dato Permaisuri 5B, Lorong 6 off Jalan Dato Permaisuri 3C and Jalan Mulia.
“There are a few more roads in queue for resurfacing; despite the challenges faced, I will do my best to ensure everyone in this constituency benefits from all the implemented projects,” he said.
