SEBUYAU: The vaccination centre (PPV) at the Kampung Lutong Community Hall, which started operations on Monday in Sebangan, is expected to vaccinate a total of 2,100 people until this Friday.
Sebuyau assemblyman Datuk Julaihi Narawi said this meant that the Ministry of Health (MOH) through the Sebangan Health Clinic targeted to vaccinate 360 people per day for the next five days.
“Meanwhile, from June 28 onwards, the PPV will operate through outreach programmes at the Sungai Ladong Community Hall for a period of five days.
“Some 2,000 residents of Kampung Sungai Ladong are expected to be vaccinated,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday.
Earlier, Julaihi visited the PPV at Kampung Lutong Community Hall to monitor the vaccination process.
“The vaccination programme which started as early as 8am until evening ran smoothly, with 360 vaccine recipients receiving their first vaccine dose,” he said.
In the meantime, the assemblyman also conveyed his gratitude to the Sebangan Health Clinic under the supervision of Dr Nurul Huda Aziz assisted by other medical officers and medical assistants for vaccinating the people.
He also extended his appreciation to the Samarahan Resident’s Office led by Resident Berahim Lumpu, Samarahan Division medical officer Dr Nur Fatihah Abdullah, Sebuyau Sub-District Office administrative officer Ajis Ahmad as well as volunteers from the Sarawak Welfare Department, community leaders and village chiefs (KMKK) and staff of the Sebuyau Service Centre.
“I hope that this vaccination programme will continue to run smoothly and I also urge the residents in the Sebangan zone to check their MySejahtera to find out the status of their vaccination,” said Julaihi.
