KUCHING: Not far from Bau, famous for its gold mine and 1857 Chinese miners’ uprising against the Brooke’s rule, is Kampung Buso which, according to folks, derives its name from a local Dayak called Pak Buso.

The peaceful and small village has existed for centuries and the residents, though living moderately, have no complaints with the outside busy world.

The kampung children, many are schooling, are especially happy in the easy-going and peaceful surroundings. New Sarawak Tribune photographer Mohd Alif Noni was there recently and has captured some interesting and telling photos of the happy children.
