BAU: Police arrested a man in possession of drugs believed to be syabu along Jalan Krokong here on Friday (Oct 22).
A team from the Crime Prevention and Community Safety division spotted the suspect riding a motorcycle in a suspicious manner near Kampung Kaman.
The police detained him for inspection and noticed that the suspect was nervous and failed to answer questions properly.
Body inspections later found 16 straw tubes containing crystalline lumps believed to be syabu, in the pockets of his trousers.
As soon as the drugs were found, the man acted aggressively and tried to run away. However, the policemen quickly apprehended him.
District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the suspect and the seized drugs, were brought to the police station for further action.
The suspect, who tested positive for drugs, will be investigated under Section 15(1)(a) and Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
