MUKAH: The Juh Berambih Sungkai Mukah programme will continue during the upcoming Ramadan to strengthen ties within the local community.
Tellian assemblyman, Royston Valentine, stated that this marked the eighth edition of the programme since its inception in 2017.
“We will continue this programme, which brings together the people of Mukah, especially during festive seasons, to ensure that unity remains intact.
“Moreover, programmes like these not only enliven the month of Ramadan with various beneficial activities but also foster closer ties within the community,” he said.
He made these remarks when speaking to reporters after the Juh Berambih Sungkai programme at Dataran Pehin Setia Raja here recently.
Elaborating further, Royston noted that the programme also strengthened relationships between the community, government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
He emphasised that the cooperation of all parties was crucial for the successful implementation of any programme and hoped such collaborations would continue.
He also hoped that the good relations, particularly the cooperation among all parties, would remain strong to ensure the smooth execution of future programmes.
Earlier, Royston also presented Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants to several recipients, including clubs and associations, in the Tellian constituency.
Among the recipients were the Setia Raja Community Recreation Club, the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Rumah Sumut, the Pencak Silat Pusaka Mengalai Martial Arts School, and the KEMAS Kindergarten of Kampung Penakub Permai.
Other recipients included the JKKK of Kampung Pegei, the Melanau Mukah Association, the Motion Athletics Club, and the Welfare Committee of the Mukah Division Health Office.
