MIRI: The ‘Jualan Rahmah’ programme, offering discounts of 20 to 30 per cent, aims to ease the financial burden of low income households, said Transport Minister and Senadin assemblyman, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin.
Speaking today after officially launching the ‘Jualan Rahmah’ event at Easy Go Shop in Vista Perdana, Lee encouraged the public to seize the opportunity to purchase essential items at significantly reduced prices.
“This is the second ‘Jualan Rahmah’ held in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations.
“I had requested two events – one in Desa Senadin last week and another here today at Easy Go Shop in Vista Perdana,” he said.
Lee highlighted that 30 essential items were available at discounted rates, ranging from 20 to 30 per cent.
He emphasised that this initiative would greatly benefit not only those celebrating Hari Raya but also the lower income community.
“This sale will last for two days, today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday).
“I urge all residents in the vicinity to take advantage of this opportunity to purchase daily necessities at significantly lower prices,” he added.
He further noted that the ‘Jualan Rahmah’ programme is designed to be mobile, rotating across different locations within Senadin each month.
This approach ensures accessibility and convenience for the residents, allowing them to buy essential goods at affordable prices without having to travel far.
“We do not want to hold the sale in one place all the time.
“By rotating locations, more people can benefit from these discounted prices,” he explained.
Also present was the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Miri chief Thomas Chua.
