MIRI: The president of the Federation of Sarawak Journalists Association (FSJA) and Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) Andy Jong Wan Joon participated in this year’s Go Bald event to help raise fund for the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS).

This was Jong’s second time participation in the event.

Jong fulfilled his promise to go bald yesterday at Paul and Jennifer’s Hair Salon where Deputy Minister of Tourism, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew was given the honour to shave his hair.

Also present was Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) Miri Branch liaison officer, Jocelyn Hee.

Jong first joined the campaign in 2018 to show support to those who lost their loved ones to cancer besides raising funds to help cancer patients.

Jong said although he only managed to collect RM10,000 this year, he was glad he could help SCCS.

Jong added SCCS needed continuous support from residents, corporate bodies and the government as it helped families with medical costs, transport, accommodation as well as moral support.
