KUCHING: The Regent of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, has praised the football management of Kuching City FC, highlighting the club’s efficient use of resources despite operating with a smaller budget.
Tunku Ismail acknowledged the club for its effective financial management.
He particularly noted that the club ensures players and coaching staff receive their salaries on time despite its limited resources.
He also mentioned hearing about the club’s plans to build a dedicated training centre.
“I commend Kuching City FC, as well as teams like PDRM and Penang.
“At least these clubs are doing well with the available resources, making the most of what they have,” said Tunku Ismail.
His remarks came during a question-and-answer session with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) fans in Johor Bahru on Wednesday.
Tunku Ismail also expressed concerns about the state of football in Malaysia.
He pointed out that the sport’s biggest challenge is that it is often managed by individuals who lack both football knowledge and genuine interest in the sport, with their focus elsewhere.
