KUCHING: Senior fellow of the Malaysian Council of Professors (MPN) Datuk Dr Jeniri Amir has been appointed as a member of the board of directors of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP).
He is appointed for a term of three years, effective from January 1, 2024 until December 31, 2027.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of DBP Datuk Dr. Anuar Mohd Rethwan congratulated Jeniri on his appointment.
He is confident that Jeniri will make significant contributions to enhancing the performance of DBP, especially in promoting the national language, literature and Malay culture.
In addition to his expertise in language and literature, Jeniri is also well-versed in newspaper publishing, magazines and books, media, communication, political communication, education, ethnic relations, journalism and writing.
With over 40 years of involvement in literature and language, Jeniri is a prolific writer with an impressive portfolio that includes politics and biographies of prominent Sarawak leaders.
He has authored over 50 books, including those published by DBP, Institut Terjemahan dan Buku Malaysia (ITBM), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) Publisher, and Firdaus Press Sdn Bhd.
Furthermore, he has written more than 3,000 articles and analysis spanning various fields and genres, published in various newspapers and magazines in the country.
