KUCHING: Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) director-general Datuk Hakimah Mohd Yusoff paid a courtesy call on Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud in Demak Jaya today (July 26).
The purpose of the visit was to inform and invite Taib as a guest of honour to the 18th convocation ceremony of Institut Kemahiran Islam Malaysia Sarawak (IKMAS) which is expected on Aug 9.
A total of 178 IKMAS graduates from 2020/2022 session will receive their diplomas and certificates.
This is also Hakimah’s first visit to Taib after being appointed JAKIM’s first female director-general effective March 21.
Also present during the courtesy visit were Sarawak state mufti Datuk Kipli Yasin, Sarawak Islamic Religious Department director Khalidi Ibrahim, Sarawak IKMAS director Kamaldin Mohd Damin and Sarawak JAKIM director Hamdan Jar’ee.
