BINTULU: The Jepak state by-election is poised for a seamless voting process throughout today (Nov 4) as Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Iskandar Turkee set an early example by casting his vote at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Bintulu at 8.45am.

Iskandar (54), accompanied by his wife Dayang Loha Awang Sahari (52), arrived at the polling station at 8.30am.

After casting his vote, Iskandar called upon all Jepak constituents, especially the younger voters, to fulfil their responsibility by coming out to vote.

“This is my final examination, where I faced an interview panel of over 22,000 people.

“If it’s in my destiny, I’ll receive an offer tonight. God willing, I will carry out the responsibilities entrusted to me by the voters of the Jepak constituency,” he said to reporters.

The favourable weather in the early morning encouraged voters to fulfil their civic duty, with a total of 14 polling centres open from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm.
