KUCHING: Politeknik METrO Betong Sarawak (PMBS) and Politeknik Negeri Sambas (POLTESA), Kalimantan Indonesia have agreed to sign an international collaboration for the purpose of education development and research for the both institutions involved.

A press release issued yesterday said that both parties concurred that this collaboration could become a solid platform in the implementation of activities through sharing of expertise and knowledge by academicians of both institutions.

“Among the activities that are being prioritised are research and innovation projects with involvement of researchers from partner institutions, international student exchanges, webinars/conferences, programmes and other initiatives,” it said.

Director of PMBS, Suhaili Aleh, who led the visit to Sambas, said the selection of POLTESA reflected the value of the institution, where PMBS aspired to become a quality technical, vocational, education and training (TVET) education provider in line with the development of Industrial revolution (IR 4.0) in Malaysia.

“Besides, POLTESA is a public higher education institution in Indonesia that has technical expertise in the fields of finance and tourism that is similar to the field of study offered in PMBS,” he added.
