Intellect Carnival 2018 officially launched

KUCHING: The Intellect Carnival 2018 was officially launched yesterday at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Sarawak, Petra Jaya. The three-day carnival from 8 until 11 October 2018 was officiated by the Director of Research and Publishing from the Islamic Civilisation and Malay World International Institute (ISTAC), Prof Datuk Dr Awang Sariyan.

The first-of its-kind carnival, organised by DBP Sarawak, features various programmes as a foundation towards the changing of culture, especially in information technology in the Malay language.

The carnival also featured a roundtable session with a DBP sales representative who will explain the vision and mission of DBP Business Partner yesterday.

Also happening are talks and exhibitions by the State Library about the E-Borneo, Borneo collection and Malay Letters References Centre. At the same time, the carnival will also be selling magazine and books at discounted prices from as low as RM1. Also present were Acting Director of DBP Sarawak, Haliza Jamaluddin; Director of DBP South Region, Abang Haliman Abang Julai; and Deputy Director of DBP, Ja’afar Hamdan.
