KUCHING: The Indian Association Kuching (IAK) encourages Malaysians of all backgrounds to appreciate the values of a diverse racial and religious society.

Marking the Malaysia Day celebrations, IAK’s president, Anthony Ramanair, emphasised the importance of teaching the younger generation to love their nation.

“Today, we commemorate the 60th anniversary of Malaysia’s formation. Both Sarawak and Sabah play crucial roles in our nation’s identity. Without them, Malaysia wouldn’t be the remarkable Southeast Asian country it is today,” said Anthony.

He added, “I genuinely hope for Malaysia’s growth and success. Unity is essential for our collective happiness and peace.”

Being a Sarawakian himself, Ramanair expressed his contentment with the country’s direction, especially under the leadership of the Unity Government and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He added, “I urge fellow Malaysians to focus on the future and let go of past grievances. If we adopt a give-and-take approach in our lives, our success will know no bounds.”
