SERIAN: With 10 days left before the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination commences, Serian MP Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem has called on parents of the candidates to continue supporting their children.

As a former teacher, he said he fully supports the efforts of teachers in ensuring that the upcoming SPM candidates are able to do their best.

On Saturday (Feb 19), 233 students from Serian division who passed their SPM trial exams received incentives from Riot in a ceremony held at the Ranchan Multipurpose Hall here.

“Always give encouragement to your kids so that they can excel in their examinations,” he said at the event.

The ceremony, which was held in compliance with the standard operating procedures, was attended by parents of the SPM candidates.

Also present were Serian district education officer Charlie Unggang and principles of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Serian, SMK Tarat and SMK Balai Ringin.

The SPM examination will commence on March 2.
