MATU: Women play a key role in building a harmonious society through their strong presence in family life.
Igan MP Ahmad Johnie Zawawi expressed his appreciation for the commitment and active involvement of women in shaping a peaceful and prosperous community.
Women play a vital role as the backbone of families, which in turn contributes to the overall stability of society.
Women are not only supporters of the family, but they are also leaders in various welfare, religious, and community initiatives.
Behind every successful man, there is surely a strong woman providing support.
Ahmad Johnie said this when officiating the Jom Berambeh Raya event at Dewan Muhibah Haji Mahdi, Kampung Bawang on Monday (April 14).
Organised by the Sarawak Women’s Association (PPWS) Matu District and the Islamic Welfare Organisation of Malaysia (PERKIM) Matu District, he said the event served as an important platform to highlight their close collaboration in empowering women in Matu District.
Through various programmes, both organisations have been actively strengthening community welfare and instilling positive values among the local population.
“One of the main objectives of this event is to foster stronger community ties in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, while also recognising the contributions of women in all areas of life.”
Also present at the event were PPWS Matu District chairperson Maryam Len and PERKIM Matu District chairperson Norlia Morshidi.
