SIBU: A single-storey terrace house in Lorong 18A, Sibu Jaya was partially damaged in fire this afternoon (Dec 9).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a distress call at 1.42 pm and dispatched firefighters from Sibu Jaya station to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team found the house ablaze and initiated firefighting operations using water from a nearby hydrant.
The fire, which caused 60 per cent damage to the house, was brought under control at 2 pm.
Overhaul works were conducted to prevent re-ignition.
The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are still under investigation.
