House owner loses over RM5,000 in break-in

MIRI: A house owner claimed losing more than RM5,000 worth of items when their house in Pujut here was broken into yesterday.

The house owner only realised the break in when he and his family members saw their house was in a mess after returning home at around 9 pm.

According to a source, before leaving the house on the same day, the family has made sure that the windows and doors were locked.

“However, when they arrived home, they were surprised to find that the house was in a mess.

“After a thorough check, they found out that s television set, a wall fan and a cooking gas cylinder were missing,” the source said.

The source said it is believed that the burglars had entered the house through a window at the rear.

The house owner has lodged a report at the Miri Central Police Station.
