MIRI: A hornet nest with the size of a tennis ball was noticed formed at a mango tree of a house in Lutong this morning.

According to Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) officer in-charge Captain (PA) Usman Harto, a 44 year-old housewife had made the discovery as she was walking towards the tree to pluck some mangoes at the backyard of her house.

Worried, she immediately called up the Miri APM for help at 11.22am.

APM Miri responded to the call, and deployed four of their personnel to the scene 30 minutes later.

“The nest was easily visible and found right at the fore of the tree, and our personnel had successfully removed the nest using aerosol spray,” said Usman.

The operation ended at 11.59am.
