TAPAH: Hope Place has stepped forward to assist a family of five living in a rundown wooden house without basic amenities.
In a press release yesterday (June 29), it was revealed that Burai Bada, her husband Jonathan, and their three children aged between 1 and 10 years old, face many challenges in their daily lives.
Jonathan, who is the sole breadwinner, works as a construction worker on a daily wage. However, his income is not enough to meet the family’s basic needs. Their eldest child, a 10-year-old, attends school, but due to financial constraints, their 5-year-old is unable to access education.
In 2019, a group of sponsors provided the family with solar lights, but they continue to struggle due to the lack of proper sanitation and sewage facilities. Their only toilet facility is an outhouse with inadequate arrangements.
Hope Place has taken the initiative to provide essential food, drinking water, and milk powder for Burai’s youngest child.
Those who would like to contribute or require additional information can contact Hope Place or Persatuan Kebajikan Harapan Kuching (PKHK) at 082-505987. The helpline is operational from Monday to Friday.
Donations, along with receipts, are welcome and can be made through the organization’s bank account at MBB: 511289001160. Alternatively, you can also find their Sarawak Pay QR code on their Facebook page.
