KUCHING: A brace by Hope FC’s Adib Imika secured a 2-1 victory over Fadzio FT in their latest Liga Bandaraya 2025 fixture.

The win earned the Hopers a crucial three points on Saturday.

In a tightly contested match, Adib’s clinical finishing proved to be the difference as he continued his fine form in front of goal.

Fadzio FT managed to pull one back, but Hope FC held firm to seal the win.

Player-manager, Bryan Cheong, praised his team’s performance and resilience, describing the result as a reflection of their dedication.

“Yes, I’m really proud of the boys. Great mentality from everyone from start to end.

“The result is a reflection of how hard these boys play and how much they love playing for this club,” he told Sarawak Tribune after the match.

Cheong was full of praise for Adib, calling him a key figure in the squad’s attacking play.

“Adib has always been a key player for us.

“He is always a threat with the way he plays and the way he creates chances for the team and himself week in and week out, and it’s just translating into goals now,” he added.

Cheong quipped that Adib’s current peak form may come down to something simple – hydration and caffeine.

“I think his secret is just proper hydration and being properly caffeinated.

“Once that’s checked, he’s good to go,” he said.
