MIRI: A metre-long (3.3ft) cobra that was taking shelter under a kitchen sink has been caught.

The reptile was spotted by the house owner, aged 46, who was about to prepare lunch for her family.

Terrified by the discovery, she immediately called up the Civil Defence Force (APM) for help.

Four APM personnel rushed to Interhill Park, responding to the emergency call around 1.26pm, and spent about 10 minutes using special equipment to capture the venomous snake.
