Homegrown booking portal SweetHut.holiday to expand offerings

KUALA LUMPUR: Online homestay and hotel booking service provider, SweetHut.holiday plans to expand its range of attractive offerings to customers, and has allocated RM6 million in capital expenditure (capex) to achieve its target.

Agensi Pelancongan Pilihan Ku Sdn Bhd chief executive officer and founder Koh Soon Leong said the company plans to offer accommodation packages which includes tickets to tourist attractions as well as holiday packages to cater to new market segments via the online portal.

“We are also looking to include air flight tickets in our offerings by partnering with local airlines,” he told Bernama.

Koh said the company also plans to partner with banks as well as e-commerce platforms to offer deals and discounts to customers.

Established in Nov 2018, Agensi Pelancongan Pilihan Ku is wholly owned by Chatkey Technologies Sdn Bhd. 

Through its website, SweetHut.holiday, the company provides online booking services for accommodations in 10 countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, India, Italy and Australia.

There are currently over 2,200 homestays and 2,500 hotels listed on the website, which receives more than 100,000 visitors per month.

However, the Covid-19 pandemic saw bookings falling by 25 per cent over the past two months, said Koh. 

“But we believe the situation is just temporary and we are optimistic that the situation will be better by September,” he said, adding that starting this month, the platform is offering discounts to all homestays for the next 18 months. – Bernama
