KUCHING: Imagine indulging in sizzling grilled Sematan lobsters and premium Australian Coorong Black Angus Tomahawk steak while watching a breathtaking pink-orange sunset over the Sarawak River, while a Moroccan-themed dessert room brimming with exquisite global sweets awaits your arrival.
This Ramadan, Hilton Kuching is redefining the iftar experience with its ‘Nikmati Sajian, Eratkan Jalinan’ campaign designed to bring people together over a feast of extraordinary flavours.
Hilton Kuching general manager Adrian Teh said this year’s Ramadan buffet promises an unforgettable culinary journey, uniquely crafted for both hotel guests and the people of Kuching.
“Our 2025 Ramadan buffet is truly special. It’s unique to this hotel, it’s unique to Kuching, and it’s something that we’re really proud of because we wanted to curate and bespoke a product or offering that is truly unforgettable for our guests and the people of Kuching,” he said during an interview with the media at the Hilton’s Ramadan Iftar Buffet exclusive sneak peek at the River View Cafe on Feb 27.
The line-up of dishes this year is a selection of seafood on ice that includes Santubong briny tiger prawns, New Zealand green mussels, Korean Tongyeong oysters, and Japanese Miyazaki oysters, a carving station with Salted Australian Stanbroke M5 Wagyu Brisket and slow-baked chermoula-marinated Australian lamb, and freshly shucked raub Musang King durian flown-in directly from Pahang.
Guests can also enjoy a live BBQ at River View Café Terrace where Sematan ornate spiny lobsters and Australian Coorong Black Angus Tomahawk steaks will be grilled fresh.
Hilton Kuching executive chef Alex Wong said that every detail of the buffet lineup has been meticulously planned to perfection.
“We wanted to create a different dining experience for our diners—something that stands out from other Ramadan buffets in town or even across Malaysia.
“We put in a lot of effort—brainstorming, food tasting, and discussions—to perfect the buffet. In fact, even as recently as last week, we were still conducting tastings to ensure everything is just right for our guests,” he said.
Additionally, one of this year’s highlights is the Moroccan Sweet Sensation—a dazzling dessert experience in a specially designed Moroccan-themed room where guests can savor an exquisite selection of traditional local treats, delicate French Petit Fours, and popular Middle Eastern sweets, along with a must-try live Kunafah station.
“I also wanted to give my pastry chef the opportunity to explore new recipes after returning from the Middle East that’s why we have this special Moroccan Sweet Sensation,” he said.
The premium Ramadan dining experience at River View Cafe is priced at RM488 nett per adult and RM244 nett per child.
For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, the Grand Ballroom offers a delightful Ramadan buffet from RM138 nett per person, featuring locally-inspired and traditional dishes Laksa Sarawak udang harimau berkeju, kambing goyang, steamed baked New Zealand whole lamb ‘Kerutuk’ spiced, kebab madu with mozzarella cheese, daging salai masak lemak cili api, butter prawn, and signature American cheesecake.
