BELAGA: A heavy downpour since Wednesday night (Jan 22) triggered soil erosion near the riverbank at Rumah Sekapan Piit this morning (Jan 23).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that firefighters from the Belaga station were dispatched to the scene, about 6km away, after receiving a distress call at 7 am.
Upon arrival, they confirmed that the erosion occurred near the road leading to the residential area.
Despite its proximity to the river, the road remains accessible to vehicles.
The team secured the area with hazard warning tapes and advised residents to exercise caution when passing through.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team returned to their station.
